Terms of Service - Triangulation Service

This triangulation service is governed by the conditions below, which supplement Itinemap's General Terms of Service.

Purpose of the Service

The service consists of triangulation work, i.e., the positioning of a defined number of GPS coordinates (in accordance with the previously signed quote) and the contribution of their equivalent onto an image-based map (e.g., a tourist map). The objective is to enable the approximate extrapolation of GPS positions on this image for navigation or orientation purposes.

Service Limit

The number of GPS points to be triangulated is defined and limited according to the terms of the quote signed between the Licensee and Itinemap. Any exceeding of this limit may be subject to an amendment or a new quote.

The service is performed based on a base map image provided by the Licensee.

From the moment the Licensee provides this image to Itinemap, they provide their approval to begin the triangulation service.

Once the work has begun, the Licensee may no longer request to work on another image.

Performance Terms

Unless otherwise mutually agreed, the service is performed remotely based on information provided by the Licensee.

On-site travel may be considered only subject to:

  • a joint decision between Itinemap and the Licensee,
  • And the prior signing of a specific budget framework for travel expenses.

Accuracy and Limitations of the Result

The triangulation work performed by Itinemap is carried out with the aim of ensuring overall consistency with the base map provided. Due to the limitations inherent in extrapolating GPS coordinates using the triangulation technique:

  • The result cannot be guaranteed to be perfectly accurate.
  • A field verification, carried out after the points have been contributed, is recommended by the Licensee.
  • Minor adjustments by the Licensee may be necessary depending on the intended end use.

Iterations and Validation

The number of iterations or adjustments performed by Itinemap as part of this service is limited, based on reasonable use and in accordance with the initial quote.

Itinemap is solely authorized to judge the final quality of the triangulation and to validate that the service has reached an acceptable level, consistent with the defined objective of correspondence between positions. GPS and image plan.

Ownership and Rights

The data resulting from this triangulation (files, georeferencing, coordinates) remain subject to the intellectual property rules defined in Itinemap's General Terms of Service. The map or plan provided by the Licensee remains their property or that of the authorized third party.

Applicable Law

These terms and conditions are subject to French law. In the event of a dispute, the French courts shall have sole jurisdiction, notwithstanding multiple defendants or third-party claims, including for customers residing or established outside France.
